WE LOVE FRIED RICE SO MUCH, WE CREATED A HOLIDAY FOR IT.
Benihana created National Fried Rice Day to celebrate one of the most iconic—and most loved—parts of the Benihana experience.
This year, one day just isn’t enough.
From September 14 through September 20, we’re turning National Fried Rice Day into National Fried Rice Week—seven days of celebrating fried rice and using every order to help make a difference.
For every order of fried rice purchased at participating Benihana, Samurai, RA Sushi and Kona Grill restaurants, we’ll donate $1 to No Kid Hungry to help end childhood hunger in America.
ONE FRIED RICE CAN HELP PROVIDE 10 MEALS.*
One week. A whole lot of fried rice. One important mission.
Fried rice has always had a special place in our hearts.
Literally.
From the famous fried rice heart created tableside by our Benihana chefs to the millions of orders our guests have enjoyed over the years, fried rice has become an unmistakable part of the Benihana experience.
We love it so much, we created a national holiday for it.
Benihana established National Fried Rice Day on September 20, 2018, and celebrated the inaugural event by making history.
Two Benihana master chefs took to the teppanyaki grill for an incredible 42 hours and 17 minutes, earning a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the longest cooking marathon.
We’ve been celebrating National Fried Rice Day ever since.
But this year, we’re going bigger.
WE KNOW WHAT WE CAN DO IN A DAY. LET’S SEE WHAT WE CAN DO IN A WEEK.
- Seven days.
- Four restaurant brands.
- One seriously delicious challenge.
How much fried rice can we cook in one week?
More importantly, how much good can we do together?
FRIED RICE WITH A PURPOSE
Every child deserves the food they need to learn, grow and thrive.
But today, 1 in 5 kids in the United States lives with hunger—that’s approximately 14 million children.
Some children are missing meals. Others live with the daily uncertainty of whether there will be enough food, while families face impossible decisions between buying groceries, paying rent, keeping the lights on and covering other necessities.
No child should go hungry in America.
That’s the goal—and the promise—of No Kid Hungry, a national campaign working to help ensure kids have access to the food they need.
This National Fried Rice Week, we’re joining that mission.
And so can you.
ONE FRIED RICE CAN HELP PROVIDE 10 MEALS.*
From September 14–20, 2026, every order counts.
For every fried rice purchased at participating Benihana, Samurai, RA Sushi and Kona Grill restaurants:
YOU ORDER 1 FRIED RICE.
WE DONATE $1 TO NO KID HUNGRY.
THAT $1 CAN HELP PROVIDE 10 MEALS FOR KIDS.*
Something as simple as ordering your favorite fried rice can help make a meaningful difference for children and families across the country.
So order the fried rice.
Order another for the table.
Bring your family. Bring your friends.
Because this week, every order helps.
HOW MUCH GOOD CAN WE SERVE UP IN ONE WEEK?
We started National Fried Rice Day because we love fried rice.
This year, we’re using that celebration to help fight childhood hunger.
And we want to see just how big we can make it.
