Christopher P. Ames was named chief operating officer of Benihana Inc. in October 2009, after previously serving as an industry consultant to Benihana Inc.  As chief operating officer, Ames oversees Benihana’s development, operations, and improvement of the systems of the restaurants, including the recently implemented Benihana Renewal Program.
 
Ames brings more than 25 years of restaurant operations experience to the company. Prior to Benihana Inc., he was the chief operating officer of Cosi Inc. (NASDAQ: COSI), and previously served in other senior operating positions at The Patina Group/Restaurant Associates, Elephant Bar Restaurants Inc., and California Pizza Kitchen Inc. (NASDAQ: CPKI).
 
Ames holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from California State University Fullerton.
